![]() ![]() ![]() Fast forward AGAIN to sitting on the flight the flight attendant comes over and says "guys where's you carrier the dogs need to be under the seats". They let everyone on the plane and still made us stand there and finally said "just go but your dogs aren't on this flight". in front of a bunch of people in line, out of breath, and now embarrassed I am forced to take out my folder and give them all the paperwork I had just given to the customer service desk before our first flight. We ran from one gate to the next hoping we wouldn't miss our flight and when we got there they wouldn't let us on the plane saying things like "your dogs are not on this flight" "there is no documentation" "well then you must not have the right paperwork". This now only made our 50 min layover in DC 20 min by the time we landed. Fast forward to finally getting to the gate after being stressed and our flight was delayed. Brought to the airport and sit had to sit at the counter like the girl didn't know what she was doing. She reiterated to me that we needed in addition to the letterhead from the doctor a form filled out (which we both did ). When I called to tell them over the phone we would have our emotional support animal I got an attitude as if I hadn't been doing this for the last 4 years. I have anxiety to the max about it & my husband gets ulcerative colitis flare ups any time he's stressed out which is usually while we fly and having our dogs with us turkey makes us feel better. I travel with an emotional support animal as does my husband because we don't do well with flying. If you keep driving around, you will eventually destroy the caliper too, which will be another $100 at least if you are having someone do it.Cons: "From the get go it was an awful experience. A payment plan for such a small deal is going to be unlikely unless you go to a chain and put it on some kind of store card financing at 20%+ interest. You were likely warned about this weeks or months ago and ignored it.Īll in all, this is a small car repair and part of life when you drive a car. until the metal backing plate of the pad starts chewing up your rotor. If you continue to drive with that sound, you eventually wear down or break off that tab and it stops making sound. ![]() Assuming they are the original rotors to the car, they are 6 years rusted on so trying to do it yourself without a basic set of tools, including a small sledge hammer, let alone a jack and jack stands, isn't going to work out.īrakes have a small metal tab on them that starts to contact the rotor and make a screeching sound when the pads are ready for replacement. :-)Īny reputable shop is going to be around the $300+ range. This is why I keep coming back to Reddit. UPDATE: Brakes are fixed! Thanks to /u/your_friends_cat for pricing everything for me (including discount codes!) And /u/Vultras for installing them for me. Bonus points if you know of anywhere that would be willing to work out a payment plan so I don't have to drop a bunch of money all at once. I don't have a lot of money, but Midas was going to charge me about $350 for brakes, rotors, and labor, so less than that would be great. My job is delivery, so I need this fixed ASAP, so all options will be considered. Preferably not cash only, but if I have to, it can be done. As of today, there's no way I can continue driving with them the way they are. Last week, they had told me I had about a month before I was going to need them. However, since last week, my brakes began grinding. The sway bar thing is covered by my warranty, and not pressing, so I'm not too worried about that. I got my oil changed last week at Midas and they gave me the bad news that I needed new brakes and a new Sway bar. ![]()
